In spring 2026, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul announced that she awarded a historic $19.4 million grant to ten transformational projects in Greater Morris Park, two of which will take place at Bronx Excellence campuses. The funding comes from the Greater Morris Park Downtown Revitalization Initiative, which aims to improve the neighborhood's residential life and employment opportunities.
Bronx Excellence 2 Elementary on Holland Avenue will receive $1.14 million in funding from Hochul. This capital will support improvements to the school’s kitchen, cafeteria, and gymnasium to give scholars, teachers, and the community more supportive health and wellness spaces.
Another $2.82 million in funding from Hochul will help Bronx Excellence 2 Middle on Williamsbridge Road renovate its kitchen as well. The project aims to address additional safety upgrades and accessibility building components.
