Opened in 2019, Bronx Excellence 5, also known as B5, is a high-performing charter school currently serving scholars in grades K-7.
According to New York State exam data, 90% of our scholars are proficient in ELA, which is more than double the average of our district peers, and 97% and 100% of 3rd and 4th graders are proficient in Math respectively, which is twice the average.
Bronx Excellence 5 uses the same academic model that earned Bronx Excellence 1 its National Blue Ribbon, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence for all our scholars.
We will welcome our first 8th-grade class in the 2026-27 academic year.
Bronx 5 Elementary & Middle Schools
Our elementary school curriculum begins preparing scholars for high school and college at the earliest grade levels. With the help of our High School Placement and Student Advancement and Alumni Relations teams, middle school students are diligently led onto their next steps to high school, college, and beyond.
