Founded in 2004, Bronx Excellence 1, is one of New York’s true success stories.
What began as a K-5 public school alternative for children in the Parkchester/Morris Park region of the Bronx, has developed into one of the highest-performing K-8 charter schools in the state.
The academic model that earned Bronx Excellence 1 its National Blue Ribbon serves as the foundation for the curriculum at all schools in our network, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence for every scholar.
Did you know? Bronx 1 scholars outperform the district by more than 40 percentage points. In fact, more than 97% of Bronx 1's 3rd graders are proficient in both ELA and Math, nearly double the district proficiency. Scholars outperform the district in every grade.
