Summer Enrichment & Internships
SAT Prep

In partnership with Bell Curves, Student Advancement offers an SAT Test Prep program to support high school students. The program is free for ECS alumni in their junior or senior year of high school.
Internships

Every summer, ECS alumni work in different departments throughout the network helping with tasks in operations, data, IT, community engagement, and more.
The internship program is paid and runs from July-August.
College Tours

Alumni gather for tours at various colleges and universities throughout the summer, led by Student Advancement staff. Colleges toured in recent years include Iona University, University of Connecticut, Brown University, and Columbia University.
Summer Institute at Colgate University

Excellence Community Schools has worked with Colgate University since 2013 to prepare rising 7-12th graders for college and beyond through a variety of immersive enrichment programs.

- Politics: “Lean in Or Dig Deep”, “Great Political Debates”
- Personal Development: “Live By Design, Not by Default”

- CAD, Design, Computer Programming and Rapid Prototyping with 3D Printing

Writopia Lab
Teaching artists at Writopia Lab serve grades K-12. Students learn about fiction, poetry, playwriting, graphic noveling, and essay writing through workshops and other hands-on activities.

BravenX
Alumni have the opportunity to learn career readiness and be a part of a network that will help them find future internships and job openings. Participants recieve a $500 stipend for completing the program.
